July 31, 2020 (Travel Return to Play Guidelines)

Dear Travel Players and Families,

We are excited to share with you the newly implemented Travel Return to Play Guidelines for the club.  As part of reopening we are implementing new protocols to ensure the safety of players and all other that are part of the Club family.  One of the changes will include the use of a daily check-in form that all players must submit daily to participate in any activities such as team practices.  More informartion will be forthcoming, but you can take a look at the Player/Coaches Mandatory Protocol Participation Form below in this page.

May 19, 2020 (Travel Soccer Update)

Dear Travel Players and Families,

We are disappointed to announce that the Latham Circle Soccer Club Travel Soccer season has been canceled due to guidelines from Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA), which has suspended all soccer related activities indefinitely.

I want to thank the coaches who have continued to stay in contact with their teams and have created innovative ways to keep the kids engaged. We are truly fortunate to have these coaches working with our program and your kids. We have been in contact with all the coaches and they are aware of the situation, during a recent call they began talking about next season.  Currently ENYYSA has not set guidelines for when tryouts can occur, as soon as we have any additional guidance we will share it.

As a not for profit LCSC depends on the registration fees from our programs to fund the clubs financial obligations many of which are paid in advance.  Although the complex is a town facility (each team was schedule to play ½ of their spring league games at our complex) the club is responsible for all the upkeep, maintenance and upgrades of the facility (the town only cuts the grass).  The club is responsible for all the other expenses associated with the operation of the complex, insurance, water, gas electric, sewer, town use fees, field lining, equipment replacement etc.  At the time of the mandatory shut down LCSC had paid the expenses for the fall and winter indoor season, the spring season, which we were heading into when the shutdown occurred, is the least expensive.

Over the course of the next few weeks the club will be issuing to all accounts in good standing, an account credit to your LCSC player account for “unused travel expense” which will include canceled practice time, canceled indoor games, CDYSL spring team commitment fees, ENYYSA player registration fees and the final installment of the coaches’ payments (which the coaches have agreed not to accept from the club).  These credits need to be manually calculated for each player on each team and will take some time to process.  This credit can be used for any future LCSC program (indefinitely) including any rec program, summer camp, travel programs for any player in your family.  You will be notified when the credit is posted to your account.

If you are financially stable and you would like to show your appreciation and support for the club and the volunteers that give of their time to ensure we have a strong program you may choose to donate your account credit for the “unused travel expenses” fee to the club.  We will provide you with a letter recognizing your donation for tax purposes.  We hope you will consider this option so that the club can continue to support youth soccer as we have done for more than 25 years.  We look forward to seeing you all on the pitch next season!

May 19, 2020 (Spring Rec Update)

Dear Spring Rec Players and Families,

We are disappointed to announce that the Latham Circle Soccer Club Spring Recreational soccer season has been canceled due to guidelines from Eastern New York Youth Soccer association, which has suspended all soccer related activities indefinitely.

LCSC is a not for profit organization which is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, who like you, were holding out hope that our kids could get out to play.  We have set up an exciting new relationship with Beestera soccer training who were planning to run all of the spring training sessions, it would have been an exciting season.

As a not for profit LCSC depends on the registration fees from our programs to fund the clubs financial obligations.  Although the complex is a town facility, the club is responsible for all the upkeep and maintenance and upgrades of the facility (the town only cuts the grass), the club is responsible for all the other expenses associated with the operation of the complex, insurance, water, gas, electric, sewer, town use fees, field lining, equipment replacement etc.

Over the course of the next few weeks the club will be issuing $40 account credit to your LCSC player account for spring rec fees, this credit can be used for any future LCSC program (indefinitely)  including any rec program, summer camp, travel programs etc.  Issuing these credits is a manual process and will take some time to complete.

If you are financially stable and you would like to show your appreciation to the club and the volunteers that give of their time to ensure we have a strong program you may choose to donate your spring fee to the club.  We will provide you with a letter recognizing your donation for tax purposes.  We hope you will consider this option so that the club can continue to support youth soccer as we have done for more than 25 years. Can’t wait to see you all back on the pitch soon!

Dear Spring Rec Players and Families / NYCFC v NY Red Bulls game ticket holders,

Hoping that this email finds all the members of our LCSC family healthy, safe and managing through these challenging times.

The Latham Circle Soccer Spring rec season was scheduled to begin this coming weekend.  Due to the continuing ‘NY PAUSE’ we have postponed the Spring Rec Season.  We continue to monitor the situation and have been working on alternative plans to get the kids out on the fields and playing as soon as possible.

The current “NY PAUSE” has been extended to May 15, and we will be communicating with you as the situation changes.   We are disappointed about the delay but remain hopeful that we can get the kids out training with James and Mike from Beestera Soccer and playing with their friends soon.

Also, the LCSC sponsored trip to the NYCFC v NY Red Bulls game scheduled for 5/30 at Yankee Stadium has been cancelled.  We are very disappointed to announce that due to the current situation we have been forced to cancel the trip.  We are working to NYCFC group ticket sales to have them process our refund for tickets.  Once that refund has been provided we will apply refunds accordingly.  Those who purchased tickets will be notified when their refund is being  processed.

We will continue to update you as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

Latham Circle Soccer Club

Dear Spring Rec Players and Parents,

The Latham Circle Soccer Spring Recreational season was scheduled to begin on April 25th.  Based on the current federal and state recommendations regarding the Covid-19 situation the board of directors has decided to postpone the opening day of the spring rec season, we will continue to review the situation and set a date that complies with the Federal and State recommendations.  As always the safety and health of our LCSC players and families is our highest priority.

We are optimistic about holding our Spring Season and getting the kids back out on the fields playing together soon.  We are excited to announce that we have partnered with Beestera Soccer Training www.beesterasoccertraining.com who will be providing the pre-game trainings for all of our spring rec players this season.

We encourage our players to get outside and get some exercise, juggle, dribble and work on some moves but remember to always practice social distancing recommendations.  A reminder that the N. Colonie Soccer Complex is NOT open, please DO NOT use the complex until it has been officially opened and we have resumed our normal soccer schedule.

Sincerely

Latham Circle Soccer

Latham Circle Soccer Club family

I wanted to take an opportunity to update you on our plan regarding COVID-19 virus and how it is impacting us.  The board has been following the situation closely.  Based on the actions of other clubs and direction from local, state and federal resources the board has decided to take the following steps:

Travel Soccer Program – until further notice and effectively immediately we will be suspending all soccer related activities including practices, games and tournaments.  The CDYSL spring season is scheduled to begin on 4/26 and at this point we have not received any information from CDYSL about that changing, if/when we do we will pass it along.

Spring Recreational Soccer Program – the Spring Rec season is scheduled to begin on April 25th and as of today we anticipate it to continue as planned, we will continue to monitor the situation and make appropriate decisions based on the situation.

NYCFC vs. Red Bull Bus Trip – the scheduled trip to Yankee Stadium for the game scheduled for 5/31 is still on.  The transportation company has extended the cancellation date with no penalties to 4/30.  The board will continue to monitor the situation and will notify everyone who has registered when we make a final decision.

These are trying times and our plan is to be proactive in our approach, however, we do not want to overreact.  I would like to thank the board, coaches and parents for their understanding and flexibility as we navigate this situation.

Sincerely,

Walt Hartl

President
